About The Position

Havenwyck Hospital, a Joint Commission-accredited and licensed psychiatric hospital, is seeking a Part-Time Transportation Driver. The hospital specializes in providing comprehensive, compassionate behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and adults, aiming to build strength, confidence, and knowledge within each patient. The Transportation Driver is responsible for coordinating and scheduling the authorized use of hospital vehicles to transport patients to and from Havenwyck Hospital. This role involves driving hospital vehicles to transport adult, adolescent, and child patients to and from services as needed, using maps and/or GPS. The driver will escort and assist patients on and off the van and into designated areas, ensuring the maintenance of a safe and sanitary environment within hospital vehicles. Responsibilities also include facilitating routine preventative maintenance and necessary repairs, recording data on maintenance and mileage logs, and communicating with guardians, family members, community providers, and other external contacts in a professional and caring manner. Additionally, the role involves assigned tasks related to keeping the facility and grounds free of trash and debris, light housekeeping in administrative areas, and attending mandatory hospital training/in-services as required, while adhering to all policies. Other duties as assigned/required are also part of this position.

Requirements

  • Must have a GED or High School Diploma.
  • No violations for driving without insurance, reckless driving, vehicular homicide manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident or fleeing a police officer.
  • No convictions for DUI or DWI within the past 7 years.
  • No more than 3 moving violations or 2 at fault accidents on record in the past 3 years.
  • Physical agility to assist patients on/off vehicle.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience transporting individuals in a mental health setting preferred.

Responsibilities
