About The Position

This position operates a commercial motor vehicle with a GVW greater than 26,000 lbs with trailers up to 53 feet in length. This position is accountable for the safe and courteous driving, delivery, loading and unloading (including safe forklift operation) of items to facilities in the Intermountain distribution network. This position will be responsible to operate a semi tractor and trailer in compliance with all state and federal regulations, including required paperwork, safety checks and reporting of any maintenance problems. Works to provide an excellent distribution system between facilities and organizations within Intermountain Healthcare. Schedule: Part-time Hours: Roughly 7:00am - 3:00pm No holidays or call.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid commercial drivers license (CDL) with appropriate commercial/chauffeur endorsements required by law to operate vehicle in excess of 26,000 gvw
  • Demonstrated proof of ability to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) exam
  • Ability to show proof of insurability and maintains a clean driving record annually

  • One 1 year of experience
  • Male driver candidate, let them know that they will not be helping with the female patients and will have to sit in cab for the time we are at sites.
  • For female driver candidates, the expectation is that they will be the receptionist checking in patients and gowning them for their exam.
  • Will need to learn about mammography and breast health to answer patients questions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to successfully function in a fast paced, service oriented environment.
  • Experience in understanding and usage of computers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in arranging all vehicle maintenance as well as documentation of such. Responsible for general cleaning and servicing of vehicle with fuel, lubricants and other maintenance requirements; and recordkeeping of trips and other assigned statistics or records.
  • Maintains and oversees scheduled Quality Assurance (QA) checks of ancillary equipment housed on the vehicle in coordination with Clinical Engineering and Mammography Technologist.
  • Performs safety check before departing with vehicle and documents such, assists in maintaining all safety equipment and ensures all safety requirements of operating vehicle are met.
  • Assists with patient check in procedures, and serves as patient care assistant, assisting female patients with ambulation, associated paperwork, and answering related questions.
  • Maintains all tracking records including but not limited to the following: daily log, number of transport rides, miles logged, with an average of miles per month and average trips per month.
  • Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
