About The Position

The Driver Manager is a key leadership position responsible for managing 30–35 company drivers and overseeing the day-to-day execution of the assigned driver fleet. The role is accountable for driver performance in service, safety, utilization, and retention, and focuses on maintaining positive employee relationships. The Driver Manager conducts regular performance reviews, determines corrective action plans when performance is below expectations, and uses Transportation Management Systems to maintain timely and accurate data. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 5:00 PM to 3:00 AM. The position offers a base salary of up to $55,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility. The stated salary range is an estimate and may change based on factors including skills, experience, education, market factors, geographical location, budget, and demand. Responsibilities

Manage driver performance by setting expectations, conducting regular reviews, and implementing corrective action processes, up to and including termination when needed.
Oversee drivers’ safety and regulatory performance and implement corrective action plans for drivers below goal.
Resolve issues involving assigned drivers.
Support driver retention.
Ensure drivers comply with FMCSA regulations, including hours of service, random drug testing, and proper licensing and endorsements.
Train and mentor drivers on tools and systems, including Omnitracs, document scanning, and payroll processes.
Track and manage driver schedules, including planned time off, holiday pay compliance, and vacations.
Resolve driver payroll discrepancies, including authorizing additional accessorial and hourly pay when appropriate.
Manage driver utilization to meet target levels and work with load planners to improve productivity.
Ensure drivers execute assigned work.
Enforce compliance with company policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct.
Contribute to a trusting, team-oriented, high-performance culture that values employees’ contributions.
Support load planning with load replanning and recovery.
Continue working until driver issues are resolved for the day or a proper handoff is made.
Monitor deliveries and pickups for service failures and proactively alert load planning and carrier management about loads at risk of failure.
Become proficient in Transportation Management Systems to ensure timely and accurate data.
