You ensure that testing, identity checks, and processing tasks are completed accurately and in accordance with regulations.
Requirements
- One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ; or Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public
- Active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s License or equivalent
- Twenty-one years of age at the time of application
- No suspensions or revocations of a driver’s license during the five year period immediately preceding employment
- Must obtain an active unrestricted Class M driver’s license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment (for employees hired after February 28, 2022)
- Active Class A Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License or equivalent with P and N endorsements
- Commercial Driver License cannot have any of the following restrictions: E, L, N, O, or Z
- Meet the PA residency requirement
- Able to perform essential job functions
- Undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment
Responsibilities
- Determine qualifications of applicants and verify that vehicles meet required safety standards
- Conduct commercial and non commercial knowledge and road examinations according to established procedures
- Examine identity, citizenship, residency, and licensing documents for authenticity
- Use systems and databases to confirm identity and detect potential fraud
- Issue driver license products and provide information related to licensing services
- Follow customer service policies, fee waiver guidelines, REAL ID requirements, and Title VI standards
