Driver License Examiner Assistant (York)
About The Position
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is seeking a Driver License Examiner Assistant to join their York licensing center. This role supports customer service and identity verification by assisting with applications, testing, and information processing. The position is crucial for promoting highway safety and combating fraud. The Driver License Examiner Assistant will welcome visitors, verify identification, provide forms and information, administer knowledge tests and vision screenings, enter applicant information and test results into online systems, answer questions about licensing requirements including REAL ID, prepare letters, scan forms, apply fee waiver codes, maintain a clean workspace, follow customer service policy, and travel to other centers when required.
Requirements
- One year of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public
- Must meet the PA residency requirement
- Must be able to perform essential job functions
- Submission of criminal history reports is required for a conditional offer of employment
- Must undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment
