About The Position

Blue Ocean Mariculture, the only open ocean mariculture farm in the United States, is seeking a Facilities Assistant/Driver (Yard Hand) to join their Offshore Production Team. This role is crucial for facilitating daily operations by ensuring the timely loading and delivery of products, equipment, and fish. The Yard Hand will also be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the Offshore Yard, including yard maintenance and trash removal. Additionally, they will assist in maintaining vehicles and transporting items between the Hatchery, Processing, and administrative offices, ensuring smooth logistical support for Blue Ocean Mariculture.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license (CDL not required)
• Clean driving abstract
• Able to pass drug screening
• Able to pass forklift and gradall certification
• Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, continuously
• Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa.
• A pre-employment background check, drug screen, and positive motor vehicle report are required.

• Preference will be given to candidates already living on Hawaii Island.

Responsibilities

• Support Offshore daily preparations.
• Gather, fill, and transport processing ice totes.
• Load and unload feed and various shipments.
• Utilize forklift and gradall equipment proficiently.
• Aid Facilities Manager in maintenance endeavors.
• Contribute to vehicle and equipment maintenance.
• Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of Offshore yard.
• Maintain precise records of receiving and maintenance tasks.
• Demonstrate capability to adhere to schedules and procedures autonomously.
