About The Position
CommQuest is seeking a full-time Driver Intervention Program (D.I.P.) Chemical Dependency Counseling Assistant to work at the ReCOR facility in Massillon, Ohio. The role supports clients through initial individual screenings and small-group counseling, while contributing to a team providing behavioral health and substance abuse services. The assistant completes required counseling paperwork, follows program schedules and agendas, and communicates client, facility, program, behavioral, and security concerns to the appropriate team members or management.
Requirements
- Be licensed by the State of Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board as a Chemical Dependency Counselor I, II, or III; or be a registered candidate supervised by an individual qualified as an alcohol and drug addiction services supervisor under the applicable rule; or be a Counselor Trainee practicing under the supervision of a professional clinical counselor whose declaration statement includes substance abuse assessment and counseling.
- Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Have a valid Ohio driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and a good driving record.
- Be confident and capable of proactively meeting new people who share CommQuest's mission and creating connections.
- Be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and BCI/FBI background check.
- If in recovery, have at least one year of sobriety and maintain firm boundaries with clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide initial individual screenings for assigned clients and determine whether further assessment is needed.
- Provide small-group counseling.
- Respond to and communicate client or facility issues, program concerns, and behavioral or security issues to the appropriate team and/or management.
- Complete required counseling paperwork and follow established program schedules and agendas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
