About The Position

Waste Connections is seeking a motivated Driver in Training to join our growing team in Acworth, Georgia. As a Driver Helper, you'll work alongside an experienced CDL Driver, learn the business from the ground up, and have the opportunity to obtain your Class A or Class B CDL for future advancement. Requirements

Valid Driver's License required.
Desire to obtain a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Ability to lift and move 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Strong work ethic and reliability.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

Waste industry, construction, landscaping, delivery, warehouse, or labor experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Collect residential and commercial solid waste along designated routes.
Safely load waste and recyclables into collection vehicles.
Assist the Driver with route navigation and customer service.
Direct and guide the Driver during backing and other tight-space maneuvers.
Perform traffic control and maintain a safe work environment.
Operate truck equipment used to compact and secure waste materials.
Conduct pre-route equipment inspections and identify safety concerns.
Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and operational procedures.
