About The Position

Responsible for transporting, relocating, loading, and unloading of gasoline or diesel-powered tractor trailer from base to established destination(s) within the transportation yard and/or makes local deliveries when needed. Performs routine vehicle inspection and preventative maintenance on equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure they are clean and in good working condition in compliance with DOT regulations. Commercial driver's license class A is required for this position.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL Class A with T, X endorsements (T = double/triple trailer and X = hazmat tanker) (required)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • No recent legal, moving, or safety violations on record
  • Must pass a background check and drug test
  • Able to operate an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Proficient using GPS and other routing systems
  • Willingness to comply with safety and quality regulations, including wearing protective gear when necessary.
  • Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (E-Logs)

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of professional truck driving educational program (preferred)
  • 1-2 years of verifiable experience (preferred)
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) (preferred)
  • Forklift Certified (preferred)
  • A desire to work with team members to improve processes and product quality in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

  • Move trailers to and from the yard and loading locations including making local deliveries.
  • Load/unload tanker trailers and railcars following proper protocols.
  • Follow and maintain loading protocols and re-checking the loads for proper weights and seal requirements.
  • Perform all DOT and hazmat checks before and after each movement.
  • Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.).
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and tools.
  • Ensuring that the truck has sufficient fuel at all times.
  • Fill out necessary delivery forms and paperwork including use of E-Log technology.
  • Must adhere to all traffic safety regulations, exercise caution in every circumstance and report unsafe vehicle and working conditions to supervisors.
  • Wash tanker trailers.
