Seasonal Driver Helper
About The Position
Manhattan Beer and Beverage Distributors is hiring a seasonal Driver Helper for a period running from mid-April through mid-September. The role supports a delivery driver in truck security, safe maneuvering, product handling, deliveries, payment collection, and warehouse checkout. The Driver Helper is expected to provide professional customer service and work effectively with the driver and team. The hourly salary range is $21.00–$23.00. Salary offers are based on factors including skills, training, experience, education, certifications where applicable, and market and organizational considerations. Successful candidates are eligible for a discretionary bonus, in addition to an employee benefits package.
Requirements
- Physically capable of lifting cases weighing more than 25 pounds.
- Physically capable of lifting barrels weighing more than 165 pounds.
- Professional and courteous demeanor.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Good team player with a positive attitude.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Warehousing experience is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Check trucks for accuracy of product loaded in the PM.
- Assist the driver with guarding and maintaining the overall security of the truck.
- Guide the driver while maneuvering the truck in delivery spaces to support driver and pedestrian safety.
- Assist in collecting payment for goods.
- Pick up breakage and return empties.
- Assist with reconciliation and checkout when the truck returns to the warehouse.
- Support the driver in handling and delivering pallets and kegs.
- Provide great service in a professional manner.
