About The Position

The Driver Helper assists with successful delivery of products to customer stores. The role requires accurate product delivery, excellent customer service, and an understanding of safety precautions. The employee rides in the cab of a delivery truck and loads and unloads materials by hand or with appropriate equipment. The position is based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The work environment is usually loud and may involve exposure to outside weather conditions, vehicle fumes and exhaust, and moving machinery parts. The employee must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Ride in the cab of a delivery truck.
• Load and unload materials onto or from trucks, pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or using a hand truck, forklift, or electric pallet jack as appropriate.
• Read work orders or follow oral instructions to determine which materials or containers need to be moved.
• Load materials into vehicles to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
• Move materials between the truck and designated loading and delivery areas.
• Arrange products according to a prearranged plan or other ideas approved by management.
• Deliver products accurately and provide excellent customer service while following safety precautions.
