About The Position

Franklin Building Supply is a lumber and building material company with over 45 years of experience and locations across Idaho and Nevada. We are 100% employee-owned, meaning employees earn ownership in the company through their work. We supply materials for home building, install a wide range of products, and manufacture items like trusses, cabinets, doors, and granite countertops. We are seeking a hardworking, adaptable, and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Load Builder/Driver Helper.

Requirements

  • Forklift Certification (or willingness to become certified within 30 days with provided training).
  • Physical Stamina: Able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs regularly throughout the day.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
  • Willingness to learn and identify various grades of lumber and building materials.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather conditions.
  • Versatility: Willingness to adapt to changing demands, self-motivated, and a strong team player.
  • Adaptability: Adjust your approach to meet evolving demands on the fly.
  • Customer Focus: Respectful, friendly, and approachable, representing the company positively to customers.
  • Discipline: Punctual and committed to completing tasks by deadlines.
  • Team Spirit: Willingness to contribute, be flexible, and go the extra mile to support the team.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a daily morning huddle to discuss safety, daily plans, and company events.
  • Engage in a quick stretching session to prepare for the day.
  • Build trim packs and pull materials onto a cart to fulfill orders.
  • Place completed packs in designated spots for easy access.
  • Stock up for the next day, tidy up the warehouse, and handle housekeeping tasks.
  • Pair up with an assigned driver for the day.
  • Check the delivery route to ensure everything is in order.
  • Assist drivers with trailer loading.
  • Provide assistance on job sites, including navigating tricky maneuvers and backing up.
  • Ensure safety at all times during deliveries.
  • Unload materials efficiently and neatly at each stop.
  • Assist in finding job sites in unfamiliar areas.
  • Maintain a vigilant eye for potential safety concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
