About The Position

MedCare Pediatric is seeking a dependable, hands-on technician to maintain its healthcare facility in Houston. The position covers general building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance, with outside vendors and contractors supporting specialized work. The technician will also operate a company passenger shuttle van as needed; training will be provided, and a company vehicle is provided when performing shuttle duties. The ideal candidate is reliable, self-motivated, mechanically inclined, able to troubleshoot problems independently, and comfortable working both indoors and outdoors. They should take pride in quality work, be dependable and punctual, and communicate professionally with employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors. Working safely in a healthcare environment is important. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:30 AM–6:30 PM, with no rotating schedule required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid Texas driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Reliable, self-motivated, mechanically inclined, and able to troubleshoot common maintenance problems.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Dependable and punctual, with professional and courteous communication.

Nice To Haves

Three or more years of facilities, commercial building, apartment, hotel, hospital, property maintenance, or related experience.
Experience with painting and drywall repair.
Experience with basic carpentry and wood repair.
Experience with basic plumbing.
Experience with basic electrical repair.
Experience repairing doors, locks, and hardware.
Experience installing fixtures, furniture, and equipment.
Experience with preventative maintenance and HVAC filter replacement.
Experience with grounds maintenance and pressure washing.
Experience with general commercial facility maintenance.

Responsibilities

Perform routine building maintenance, repairs, and general facility upkeep.
Troubleshoot and repair doors, locks, hardware, fixtures, furniture, ceiling tiles, and other building components.
Perform painting, drywall repair, basic carpentry, flooring, and general repair projects.
Perform basic plumbing repairs and fixture replacements.
Perform basic electrical repairs, including lights, switches, outlets, and fixtures.
Complete preventative maintenance and routine facility inspections.
Replace HVAC filters and perform basic HVAC maintenance.
Maintain facility grounds, parking areas, and exterior areas.
Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
Keep tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies organized.
Maintain maintenance records and communicate maintenance issues as needed.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs.
Operate a company passenger shuttle van as needed.
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
