Driver - CNA
About The Position
The Pines at Catskill, an affiliate of National Health Care Associates and a Certified Great Place to Work, is seeking a Driver who is also a Certified Nurse's Aide (CNA). This role involves meaningful work, making a genuine difference in the lives of aging guests and their families. The position offers opportunities for lasting bonds and career growth. The driver will be responsible for safely transporting residents to and from medical appointments, outings, and other destinations, ensuring they receive necessary medical assessments and care. A friendly demeanor and reliable service are key to resident well-being. This position is Monday through Friday, with no weekends, and includes a $5000 sign-on bonus.
Requirements
- Current driver’s license and excellent driving record is required
- Must be a CNA (Certified Nurse's Aide)
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations
- Compassion, patience, and empathy in working with seniors
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in patient transportation or a similar role preferred
Responsibilities
- Safely drives residents to medical appointments, outings, and other destinations according to assigned schedule
- Adheres to traffic laws, regulations, and facility policies to ensure the safety of passengers and others on the road
- Assists residents into and out of vehicle
- Secures passengers’ wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs while driving
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to coordinate transportation schedules and ensure resident needs are met
- Communicates with administrative staff regularly to receive instructions or report delays and disruptions of service
- Maintains the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle, performing routine inspections, refueling and immediately reporting maintenance needs
- Keeps records of trips and behavior of passengers
