About The Position

BlueLinx is hiring a Class A driver to deliver freight safely and accurately, handle customer product returns when required, and provide professional customer service. Drivers properly secure loads using straps; tarping is not required. The role uses flatbed and curtain-side trailers and includes maintaining required safety and Department of Transportation (DOT) records and inspections.

The position offers first-shift hours, with drivers home every night and weekend. Starting pay is $33.75 per hour. BlueLinx describes its driver community as safety-focused and supportive.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL.
• At least 21 years of age.
• 12 months of recent, verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years.
• Safe driving record.
• Ability to secure loads.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Properly secure loads using straps; tarping is not required.
• Deliver freight accurately and on time, and handle customer product returns when required.
• Manage proof-of-delivery paperwork from customers.
• Interact professionally with customers and communicate customer issues.
• Maintain the daily safety checklist and perform all required DOT inspections.
• Maintain an electronic logbook and complete trip reports.
• Direct customer unloading when required.
