About The Position
RJ Schinner is hiring a local Class A CDL Driver based at 3050 Horseless Carriage Dr., Norco, California. The driver works Monday through Friday with early-morning starts and returns home daily. The role includes inspecting and safely operating a truck, making deliveries, verifying orders with customers, handling touch-freight deliveries for designated accounts, collecting payments, and maintaining required records and a clean vehicle. Drivers receive consistent truck assignments and steady routes, and use newer automatic-transmission trucks. RJ Schinner is a family-owned distribution business founded in 1951, with 21 distribution centers and more than 600 employees. Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL Operator’s License.
- At least 3 years of driving experience.
- Ability to meet DOT requirements, including pre-employment and random drug testing.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
- Current valid Federal Medical Card.
- Understanding of common road hazards and adherence to safe-driving practices.
- Previous delivery experience.
- Problem-solving ability.
- Commitment to providing excellent customer experiences.
Responsibilities
- Inspect the truck before and after trips and complete daily vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs).
- Work with customers to verify deliveries, including checking quantities and products against ship tickets.
- Handle touch-freight deliveries using a manual pallet jack for designated accounts.
- Collect payment for delivered goods according to ship-ticket instructions.
- Maintain accurate driver logs in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Operate the vehicle safely in accordance with DOT guidelines, company safety manuals, and policies.
- Maintain a clean, well-kept vehicle that represents the company.
- Keep the CDL current and maintain a clean driving record according to DOT and company standards.
