About The Position

GFL Environmental is looking for a Class 3 Driver (Residential Side Load) to join their team in Nanaimo. As the face of "Team Green," you’ll play a vital role in keeping communities clean. You’ll be responsible for the safe, efficient, and courteous collection of waste and recyclables, ensuring materials are transported to post-collection facilities with precision and care.

Requirements

Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.
Ability to manually lift or move up to 65 lbs regularly throughout the day.
A self-starter who can work effectively with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required.
Successful candidates will be required to provide valid documentation confirming their eligibility to work in the country where the job is located prior to their start date.

Previous industry experience is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

Safely operate commercial vehicles and on-board hydraulic systems across assigned residential routes.
Maneuver trucks in tight spaces and execute backing maneuvers of 120 feet or more using mirrors.
Maintain a positive, professional demeanor while interacting with customers and the public.
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections; adhere to all provincial, federal, and company safety regulations.
Accurately complete daily truck reports, route sheets, and safety logs.
Maintain clear, effective contact with dispatchers and supervisors to ensure route efficiency.
