About The Position

The Chas. E. Phipps Co. is looking for a CDL-B Driver to join their team. They are a family-owned company that is growing rapidly in Columbus, OH. Since 1921, The Chas. E. Phipps Company has helped contractors put work in place correctly and profitably by supplying high-quality, innovative products and equipment, technical expertise, and trusted service. Phipps distributes concrete accessories, concrete repair materials, sealants, and coatings to contractors so they can build or repair industrial and commercial buildings, infrastructure, concrete wearing surfaces, or the building envelope. The Driver/Warehouse Associate will perform a variety of routine shipping, receiving, production, and housekeeping tasks. Shipping tasks include picking, packaging, and shipment of orders. Receiving tasks include loading and unloading truck shipments and stocking the warehouse shelves. Production tasks include material handling and cutting machine operation. This role also involves the delivery of material and equipment between warehouses and to customer facilities and jobsites. This position reports directly to the Branch Manager.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to and from work
  • Physical Requirements lifting materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Class "B" CDL required.

Responsibilities

  • Create positive customer experiences in the field and warehouse operations.
  • Accurately deliver material to the jobsite or customer location per delivery instructions.
  • Transfer, load and unload material and equipment to and from Phipps' warehouses.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of Phipps trucks. This will include daily inspections, cleanliness, and making sure the trucks are never overloaded. Reporting any maintenance issues to Branch manager, this will include regular maintenance.
  • Operate truck and crane safely and professionally. Notify the Supervisor of problems with deliveries or pickups.
  • Jobsite delivery of rental equipment, this includes occasional setup onsite.
  • Receive and unload incoming material and compare information on packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipment & entry into system.
  • Sort, count, package, label, and unpack inventory that is received.
  • Inspect shipments for damages, loss, or defects, and notify the Supervisor of findings.
  • Responsible for accurately receiving, reporting and putting away orders/transfers.
  • Stock shelves in the warehouse.
  • Operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading material and equipment.
  • Prepare orders for shipment in accordance with the pick ticket and customer requirements.
  • Notify the Branch Manager of shortages.
  • Package and ship materials.
  • Rotate inventory.
  • Communicate with Branch Manager on inventory - low levels and shelf life critical material.
  • Use P21 operating system (training provided).
