Driver - CDL A (Heavy Haul)
About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is hiring a Class A CDL Driver for its specialized Trench Safety / Trenching Rental Division, based out of the Corfu, New York branch. The driver delivers, loads, and recovers trench shielding, shoring, and excavation safety equipment to and from customer job sites across the regional area. The role requires safe operation of commercial vehicles and heavy construction equipment, along with customer service and basic equipment troubleshooting at job sites. The physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required. Requirements
- Valid driver's license with Class A CDL certification and an acceptable driving record.
- Experience operating commercial vehicles and hauling heavy construction or trenching equipment.
- Strong customer service focus and dedication to safety on the road and at job sites.
- Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors as required.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience or ability using a truck-mounted crane or knuckle boom to load, unload, and stage heavy trench shoring equipment.
- Experience driving flatbed, dovetail, or lowboy/RGN trailers.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and minor equipment checks at customer job sites.
