About The Position

This role involves operating tandem/tri axle tractor trailer combinations (Walking Floor, Rolloff & Belt Trailers) requiring a Class A CDL. The primary responsibility is to transport industrial waste, soil amendments, and other non-hazardous solids from customer facilities to designated disposal or recycling sites. The position requires a strong commitment to safety, adherence to all relevant regulations (OSHA, DOT, local, state, federal), and maintaining a clean and safe vehicle. The driver will perform pre- and post-trip inspections, report any unsafe situations, and maintain accurate driver logs. Communication with on-site customer representatives and participation in training are also key aspects of the role. The driver may also be assigned to perform scheduled maintenance, cleaning, and assist in training other drivers.

Requirements

  • Highschool or equivalent
  • 2 years of commercial driving experience
  • Clean driving record
  • Valid driver's license
  • CDL Class A (required)
  • Registered with DOT/FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Valid DOT medical card
  • Registered with the State as required
  • Knowledge of truck/trailer components i.e. (brakes, lights, tires, suspension, engine components, coupling devices, etc.) and the ability to perform a quality vehicle inspection.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Safe driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Operation of tandem/tri axle tractor trailer combinations (Walking Floor, Rolloff & Belt Trailers) requiring a Class A CDL.
  • Transport industrial waste, soil amendments and other non-hazardous solids from customer facilities to designated landfills, recycling facilities, or land sites for disposal, recycling, or beneficial use.
  • Practice and promote safety; including but not limited to, assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate PPE.
  • Operates vehicle in accordance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements as well as all local, state and federal requirements, Customer and Company expectations for the Fleet; maintains a clean and safe vehicle, maintains and updates Driver Logs.
  • Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle utilizing standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report); notes all issues on DVIR form for corrective review/repair.
  • Immediately reports any unsafe situations to the Manager before attempting service.
  • Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by the Manager.
  • Train and assist other company drivers as directed.
  • Notify Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with on-sight customer representative(s).
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, cleaning and other duties as assigned by the Company.
