About The Position

The Driver Assistant is a supportive member of the Delivery team, responsible for loading and unloading delivery trucks, maintaining product organization, and adhering to food safety principles. This role requires maintaining high professional uniform and personal hygiene standards. The assistant will inspect fruits and snacks for quality, report issues to the Driver or manager, and assist with bringing equipment and coolers to the truck to expedite loading. There will be instances where the assistant is required to load various routes. The role involves close collaboration with the Dispatch Supervisor and may include accompanying drivers on route deliveries, handling products and meals, and ensuring customer orders match product deliveries for accuracy and quality. Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential when engaging with school and other representatives. A positive disposition, respectful conduct, and polite demeanor are expected at all times. The assistant will perform spot checks on product quality during delivery and unloading, and may pack and load products onto trucks according to company specifications, as well as unload trucks to meet customer/school program needs. Adherence to proper food handling requirements and temperature checks for chilled products is mandatory. Good communication with co-workers and team members is vital. The role includes managing packing slips, the delivery process, obtaining customer signatures, and noting any rejections or shortages. Problem-solving and promoting Revolution Foods' Core Values and mission are encouraged. Safe working practices during loading and unloading are required, potentially involving pallet jacks, dock plates, wheel chalks, tracking mileage, straps, handling pallets, and plastic wrap. Maintaining a clean and sanitary truck interior and exterior, and ensuring proper care of equipment used for product movement or securing inventory are key responsibilities. Following all required safe work and food safety practices, including vehicle safety precautions and wearing required PPE, is essential. Any food safety and food quality issues must be corrected and/or reported to management immediately. The role also involves completing various routine administrative tasks and performing other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year experience working in a food service environment, with customer contact.
• Experience working in a warehouse environment loading and unloading product.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
• Able to work an early morning flexible schedule and cover varied shifts.
• Must possess a positive and professional attitude and image.
• Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter who can common routines.
• Ability to move, lift and carry products up to 50 pounds.
• Able to work as a team and individually to accomplish the work.
• Knowledge of basic food handling requirements.

Responsibilities
