About The Position

GreenPoint Ag is seeking a Full-Time Driver Applicator for its Covington, TN Retail location. This role is responsible for meeting the application requirements of the location in compliance with state and federal regulations, while being responsive and courteous to customers. The Driver Applicator plays a key role in providing quality application services, where their personal image and professionalism are important in supporting sales and customer service. Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license: must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy.
  • High School graduate or GED; may be offset by experience.
  • Must obtain and maintain required state commercial applicator certification as required by state.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to communicate with associates and customers.
  • Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation, including understanding shipping/applicator orders and tickets, product labels, MSDS sheets, warning signs and emergency procedures.
  • Ability to maintain customer service and represent GreenPoint Ag in a professional and courteous manner.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in the agriculture industry or other related industry preferred.
  • Basic mechanical skills for daily maintenance of equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Handle and store hazardous materials (pesticides, fertilizers, chemicals) in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Use appropriate PPE (gloves, goggles, protective clothing) when working with hazardous materials.
  • Provide quality application services to customers in a safe and timely manner.
  • Maintain a quality and professional image with customers and is responsive to their needs.
  • Obtain/maintain DOT commercial driver’s license (CDL) and registration, comply with state and federal requirements and annual updates.
  • Obtain/maintain state commercial Applicator certification and stay current with requirements.
  • Perform daily inspection of equipment prior to field applications and post application inspections.
  • Maintain safety equipment in optimum condition in the applicator equipment and immediate work area; follow all safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Apply the correct labeling, decals and DOT numbers to equipment and tanks.
  • Maintain the appropriate applicator and equipment logs and ensure they are kept up to date.
  • Perform the required preventive maintenance program recommended for the equipment.
  • Comply with regulatory guidelines in tank mixing, rinsing, and washing down both in the field and at the plant.
  • Work with and assist other employees with various duties when not actively driving, as assigned by the supervisor. This may include filling orders, inventory, driving forklift, general equipment maintenance, grounds work, housekeeping, etc.

  • During off-season and at other times, employees may be required to perform duties at the location which are outside the employee’s primary job function. Additional job-related tasks, such as clean-up, landscaping, maintenance, painting, pressure washing, and material handling may be assigned.
