About The Position

At Children’s Crisis Treatment Center (CCTC), our staff is dedicated to addressing the impact of childhood traumatic events and other challenges. The Driver’s Aide will safely assist in the transport of children ages 5-13 presenting with crisis and behavioral health issues.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Possess an excellent driving record
  • The ability to work effectively with diverse cultures including those CCTC serves, staff, other provider agencies, payers and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong organizational skills that serve to support CCTC’s mission and vision.
  • Proficient in safe driving and handling of a multi-passenger vehicle.
  • Proficient in handling office equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the driver daily as needed, both during routine activities and during emergencies
  • Serve as a substitute driver when required
  • Ride the van daily and ensure safe and orderly rides, ensuring safe morning arrivals and afternoon departures during the first 3 days of services while assisting passengers on and off the vehicle
  • Provide families with safe transportation to scheduled site visits ensuring door-to-door transport and assisting passengers on and off vehicle assisting children and adult caregivers with seating, assistive devices, safety and behavioral concerns using a trauma-informed framework daily
  • Conduct pre & post shift inspection of the company vehicle to ensure a safe journey for our children and their families, including vehicle cleanliness and adequate gasoline for vehicle
  • Review ModivCare forms daily and manifest to ensure children are accepted for their service and adjust as needed to CCTC van manifest
  • Provide manifest of children to be transported daily, submit to Administrative Assistant as well as Program Directory by 2:30pm daily.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of trip information and submit weekly to Facilities Manager
  • Complete all necessary incidents reports in relation to any incidents with children or any person transported on CCTC vehicles, accidents, or any incidents of concern and submit them to the Program Director
  • Assist with other program needs: cleanliness of facility, small maintenance issues that can be addressed on site, deliver interoffice mail to main office, deliver completed food service forms to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and other programs when appropriate
  • When in role of substitute Driver, is responsible for paying any parking or other vehicle violation tickets that are a result of their own actions and will do so within the expected timeframe once informed of the violation
  • Attending weekly staff meetings as appropriate
  • Participation in internal as well as external training to ensure the completion of all CCTC mandatory training.
  • Immediately employs Sanctuary Model with clients, families and staff and monitors its use in the Acute Partial Program to effectively maintain the Sanctuary Model for all
  • Participation in internal, as well as external training, to ensure the completion of CCTC mandatory training requirements.
