About The Position

The Drill Press/Brake Operator is responsible for independently operating and maintaining plate processing equipment within the Plate Shop. This role supports production by cutting, forming, drilling, and preparing metal components according to engineering drawings and production specifications.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to safety or health of employee or others.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Good understanding of computer operations.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand parts.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in shop environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operates CNC controlled Brake Presses.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints.
  • Selects proper punch and die tooling.
  • Sets-up, adjusts, and operates Brake Press to perform a wide variety of operations on a diversified line of work.
  • Sets-up, adjusts, and operates Brake Press to run prototype jobs and new parts orders.
  • Inspects parts using precision measuring equipment and documents inspection data.
  • Able to read Drawings and produce parts based on drawing.
  • Operate Press as necessary to produce parts.
  • Produce items daily in support of production.
  • Inform leadsmen and or Foreman of shortages with material.
  • Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
  • Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers and coworkers and including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
  • Respectfully takes direction from supervisor or manager.
