About The Position

The Drill Operator works proficiently with others and independently, and safely and efficiently operates roll rotating equipment. The position includes setting up suction and press rolls for drilling and accurately reading, communicating, and reproducing drill patterns in paper machine rolls, including with a CNC drill machine. On-the-job training is provided. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the requirements may be substituted.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work proficiently with others and independently.
• Ability to perform the listed responsibilities safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate roll rotating equipment.
• Safely and efficiently operate overhead cranes.
• Safely and efficiently operate hand and power tools.
• Set up all aspects of suction and press rolls for drilling safely and efficiently.
• Learn new equipment when upgrades occur.
• Accurately read, communicate, and reproduce drill patterns in paper machine rolls, including using a CNC drill machine.
• Read and understand standard prints.
• Perform other assignments as directed by production supervision.
• Perform maintenance, housekeeping, painting, and miscellaneous tasks as needed or directed by supervision.
• Proficiently perform all tasks with or without supervision.
