About The Position

Kiewit is seeking experienced Drill Laborers to support road construction, grading and earthmoving operations near Study Butte, Texas. The pay rate is up to $30/hr depending on experience. The shift schedule is 10 days on and 4 days off. Candidates must be available to work day and night shifts. Additional overtime and weekends may be required. A $70/day worked per diem is provided for travel exceeding 50 miles from the project site, and a $75/day travel allowance is provided. Housing accommodations are available. All offers are contingent on your ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol test.

Responsibilities

Assist craftsman in setting up work as required.
Assist with hole layout, ensuring correct drilling angles and material placement, provides spotter support for equipment operations, operates skid steers and other equipment, load blast holes in accordance with project plans and safety requirements.
Follow instructions given by superintendents, foreman and other experienced crew.
Perform all required duties with the first focus on safety.
Responsible for keeping work areas clean and in orderly conditions.
Read and understand warning signs, operating instructions for equipment, jobsite safety rules and jobsite policies.
Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to determine hazards.
Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
Inspect subordinate's work for compliance and/or deficiencies.

Benefits

$70/day worked per diem is provided for travel exceeding 50 miles from the project site
