About The Position

Kiewit is seeking experienced Drill Operators to support road construction, grading and earthmoving operations near Study Butte, Texas. The pay rate is up to $36/hr depending on experience. The shift schedule is 10 days on 4 days off. Must be available to work day and night shift. Additional overtime and weekends may be required. $70/day worked per diem is provided for travel exceeding 50 miles from the project site. $75/day will be provided for travel allowance. Housing accommodations are available. All offers are contingent on your ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol test.

Requirements

• Must be available to work day and night shift
• Must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
• Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
• Must be able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site
• Must have required tools
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing

Responsibilities

• Operate drilling or blasting and large heavy equipment while performing maintenance and repairs on roads and rights-of-way including loading, hauling and dumping on smooth to extremely rough and steep surfaces.
• Ability to read and understand drill/blast plans, grades, and staking.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for installation of culverts, water pipes and sewer pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Knowledgeable of equipment in respect to checking and maintaining all fluid levels and lubrication.
• May be asked to instruct and train employees in the safe operation of construction equipment and tools and in job techniques and skills.
• Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
• Obtain proper and complete documentation prior to moving materials.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or fluids.
• Maintain logs of working hours, or of vehicle maintenance, following applicable state and federal regulations.
