Covia is looking for a dynamic 2nd shift Dredge Operator who will have a positive impact on the Operations team at its Tuscaloosa, AL location. As a Dredge Operator, you will mainly be responsible for the safe operation of our cutterhead dredge.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Literacy in English, both verbally and written
Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment adequately
Oral and written communication skills
Basic mechanical aptitude

Nice To Haves

Previous experience within sand mining operations preferred, but not required
Swimming is a preferred skill to have

Responsibilities

Ensure Safety is the top priority. All activities are to be completed following MSHA regulations, Plant procedures, and Corporate Safety and Health policies.
Ensure compliance with quality procedures and standards
Communicate with key personnel at shift change, daily
Perform other job duties as assigned
