About The Position

BAE Systems is looking for a Drawing Specialist to join their team for an exciting opportunity supporting an acquisition program for the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications System. The successful candidate will provide program and project management support to the Strategic Automated Command Control System (SACCS) Acquisition Programs. This program is designed to extend SACCS systems life and transition into the follow-on system, known as Sentinel ICBM System (formerly Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD)). The team includes existing staff with extensive expertise in the current Minuteman III weapon system and actively participates in ongoing studies and assessments for future systems updates.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in CAD Drafting.
  • Working knowledge of Air Force and ASME drawing standards.
  • Ability to work independently on own initiative, as well as within a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a complex and rapidly changing environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience in creating models for structural, mechanical, electrical, systems and schematic diagrams.
  • Able to understand specifications from written/verbal communication.
  • Excellent cognitive, communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills.
  • Active US DoW Secret Security Clearance granted within the last 5 years.
  • Demonstrated self-discipline to plan and prioritize their own work with successful results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • US Citizenship status required.
  • Position is only located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.
  • Not conducive to telework schedules due to special-access, classified working environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher education.
  • Previous work with DoW, USAF, or other military organizations.
  • Experience managing within, or entire, DoW acquisition programs in a Systems Program Office.
  • Experience with technical systems development.
  • General knowledge of requirements management tools.
  • General knowledge of model-based systems engineering processes.

Responsibilities

  • Create models and technical drawings of structural, mechanical, electrical equipment, assemblies, harnesses, and schematics from written and verbal specifications from project engineers.
  • Work with designers, drafters, organic partners, and engineers to capture design effort during the acquisition process.
  • Conduct drawing reviews for completeness and accuracy.
  • Update drawings while maintaining all revisions.
  • Examine and validate engineering drawings.
  • Prepare documents for submission and use.
  • Interface between project stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Attend internal and external meetings as required to cover both business items and customer requirements.
  • Review and approve all correspondence delivered to customer as deliverable item.
  • Follow all required processes especially the peer review process to ensure quality of products being delivered.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership in ethics, safety, and security.
  • Accountable to the Program Manager for tasks/assignments.
  • Serve as a focal point for individual tasks/projects.
  • Directly support government leadership and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Maintain other duties as assigned.
