About The Position

Nesco Resource is hiring a Fine Wire Drawing Operator in Newberry, South Carolina. The operator follows safety and housekeeping procedures, carries out production priorities and machine tasks, maintains product quality and traceability, and works safely and professionally. The role includes handling spools and bobbins, conducting inspections, preparing documentation, completing quality checks and weld samples, performing approved light maintenance and die changes, and assisting other operators as assigned.

Requirements

• Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Complete required crane and PIT/tugger inspections.
• Follow procedures and perform only trained or authorized tasks.
• Be punctual and maintain safe, productive, and professional work habits.
• Complete a minimum of 10 full die changes per month.

Responsibilities

• Wear required PPE, follow safety procedures, and complete required crane and PIT/tugger inspections.
• Inspect the work area and report hazards, injuries, accidents, and unsafe conditions promptly.
• Keep the work area clean by removing wire, trash, dust, and liquids; handle spools and bobbins properly.
• Follow posted job priorities and Supervisor instructions; maintain proper machine setup, wire flow, and color.
• Communicate material needs to the Material Handler or Supervisor.
• Prepare labels and required documentation; check and label completed Fine Wire bobbins.
• Set up and replace 1T plated wire bobbins.
• Perform approved light maintenance and die changes, completing at least 10 full die changes per month.
• Maintain accurate wire traceability and documentation; complete required quality checks and weld samples.
• Identify and report non-conforming material; quarantine questionable 1T bobbins and notify the Supervisor.
• Return rejected plated wire to Plating with its original Birth Certificate and document the rejection; after three rejections, set material aside and notify the Supervisor.
• Be on time and ready to work, follow procedures, perform only trained or authorized tasks, and maintain safe, productive, and professional work habits.
• Assist other operators and perform other duties as assigned.
