About The Position

Assist skilled craft workers with their assigned duties and perform physical labor at construction sites. The role requires the ability to perform a variety of duties in a construction environment while prioritizing safety, following instructions, and maintaining orderly work areas.

Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent and previous experience in the field or a related area.
• Possess working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
• Understand, follow, and communicate written and oral instructions effectively with management and supervision.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to carry out work activities.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
• Pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
• Possess the required tools.
• Be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl while moving around a construction or industrial site.
• Be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds; access equipment or work areas using ladders, mechanical platforms, manlifts, or scaffolds may exceed 200 feet.
• Move and work in confined and cluttered places and on uneven surfaces.
• Complete tasks in noisy and dusty environments.
• Be able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across a construction or industrial site.

Responsibilities

• Assist craft workers in setting up work as required.
• Follow instructions from superintendents, foremen, and other experienced crew members.
• Perform required duties with safety as the first focus.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Read and understand warning signs, equipment operating instructions, jobsite safety rules, and jobsite policies.
• Observe installed equipment or systems in operation to identify hazards.
• Perform other duties as required.
