About The Position

As a Drainage Design Engineer, you will apply hydrologic and hydraulic engineering principles to plan, analyze, and design drainage infrastructure for transportation and roadway improvement projects. Working with multidisciplinary teams and under senior engineers' guidance, you will contribute to cost-effective stormwater management solutions, including storm sewer systems, culverts, open channels, detention and retention facilities, roadway drainage networks, and hydraulic structures. You will perform drainage analyses, prepare engineering calculations, develop construction plans and technical reports, and support evaluations of flood risks, watershed impacts, and regulatory compliance. You will use industry-standard design software and modeling tools to assess system performance and ensure designs meet applicable transportation agency standards, drainage criteria, and environmental regulations. As your experience grows, you will take increasing ownership of project deliverables, coordinate with stakeholders, help resolve engineering challenges, and contribute to project planning and execution. The role offers opportunities to strengthen technical expertise and engineering judgment while contributing to transportation infrastructure that supports public safety, mobility, and resilience. This hybrid role operates between office and field environments.
