A Plumber’s Helper, or Apprentice, may begin as an unskilled tradesperson responsible for assisting a Plumber with installing, inspecting and repairing pipes and plumbing systems to make sure all of a building’s, unit’s, or home’s fixtures operate correctly. Duties include assisting with finding the source of leaks and blockages, fixing or replacing broken parts, installing equipment, fixtures and appliances, and testing the plumbing system(s). An apprentice should assist with the performance of a variety of plumbing tasks and communicate politely and professionally with both commercial and residential clients. The apprentice may interact with clients, so customer service and maintaining The O’Connor Way is a big part of the job. The ability to assist with keeping accurate and complete records is important.
