About The Position

Operates a dragline to mine Aggregate Limestone. This role involves operating the dragline in all modes of digging, spoiling, and propelling, utilizing hand levers and foot pedals to control the machine's movement and bucket. The technician will assist the supervisor with maintaining consistent dig sequences and windrow placement, anticipate walking pad requirements, and request grading assistance to minimize downtime. Responsibilities include inspecting ropes, predicting tooth changes, and assisting other crew members to foster a safe and engaged work environment. The role also requires performing duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, company safety procedures, and environmental regulations. Additionally, the technician will assist with repairs and component replacements, and may be required to drive a company vehicle, maintaining a clean driving record.

Requirements

• Prior demonstrated ability operating heavy equipment in a construction or mining environment.
• Ability to be trained in safe dragline operation, digging, spoiling and moving machine to maximize machine efficiency and reduce operating cost.
• Ability to work with other crew members and work as a team player is a must.
• Prior on-the-job experience as a heavy equipment operator is required.
• Ability to be trained in the safe operations of a dragline is a must.
• Clean MVR.
• Ability to work rotating shifts.

Nice To Haves

• Prior dragline operating experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operates a dragline in all modes of digging, spoiling and propelling utilizing hand levers and foot pedals to rotate machine and position boom above excavation point; raises and lowers bucket to material; drags bucket forward to load material, rotates machine and lets bucket back out to dump.
• Assists supervisor with maintaining consistent dig sequence and windrow placement.
• Anticipates walking pad requirements and requests grading assistance to eliminate down time on the machine.
• Inspects rope and predicts tooth changes.
• Assist other crew members to maintain positive, engaged and safe work environment.
• Performs job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures and State and Federal environmental regulations.
• Assists with all repair and component replacements.
• May be required to drive a company vehicle, must maintain a valid driving record (MVR) and in good standings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
