About The Position
JM Fab is seeking a Draftsman/SolidWorks Designer to create 3D models and manufacturing drawings supporting fabrication, machining, quoting, and production.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of GD&T and drafting standards.
- Knowledge of sheet metal, welding, and machining processes.
Nice To Haves
- 2+ years of SolidWorks modeling and drafting in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical degree or certificate in drafting, design, or engineering.
- CSWA or CSWP certification.
Responsibilities
- Build 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks from customer drawings, sketches, models, and specifications.
- Create flat patterns, weldment drawings, assembly drawings, and fixture designs for fabrication and machining.
- Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and maintain drawing and model revision control.
- Support estimating with models, part geometry, and manufacturability input.
- Work with production and quality to resolve drawing questions and design changes.
- Handle customer and export-controlled technical data according to company procedures.
