About The Position

Under the direction of the Design Manager, the Drafting Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the drafting team to ensure the accurate and timely production of technical drawings and plans. This position is responsible for coordinating drafting activities, maintaining quality standards, and facilitating communication between engineers, and project managers. The supervisor will lead the development and implementation of drafting procedures and best practices to optimize workflow efficiency and compliance with industry standards. Additionally, the role involves mentoring and training drafting staff to enhance their technical skills and professional growth. Ultimately, the Drafting Supervisor ensures that all deliverables meet project specifications and contribute to the successful completion of engineering projects.

Requirements

Associates degree in Engineering, Architecture, Drafting Technology, or a related field; BA degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of total experience in technical drafting with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software such as AutoCAD; TEKLA preferred.
Strong understanding of engineering and/or architectural drawing standards and conventions.
Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage a diverse team.
Utilizes advanced CAD software skills daily to review and produce precise technical drawings that meet project specifications.
Leadership and communication skills are essential for coordinating the drafting team, providing clear instructions, and facilitating collaboration with other departments.
Analytical skills are applied to identify and resolve design discrepancies and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Time management and organizational skills help in prioritizing tasks, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and meeting strict deadlines.
Ability to train and mentor staff fosters a productive work environment and continuous team development.
