About The Position

HSI is looking for an experienced Drafting Manager to lead our drafting department and help shape the technical backbone of our pressure vessel and structural fabrication work. In this role, you'll guide a talented team of drafters and designers, set the standards that keep our drawings accurate and code-compliant, and serve as a key technical partner to engineering and production. Requirements

• Associate's degree or certificate in Drafting, CAD, or Engineering Technology
• 7+ years of manufacturing or industrial drafting experience
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and advanced 2D/3D modeling
• Knowledge of pressure vessels, ASME BPVC, fired heaters, and structural design
• Proven experience leading multiple projects and teams to deadline
• Sharp eye for detail and strong cross-team communication skills

Nice To Haves

• PDM/PLM implementation or administration experience
• Prior experience managing a drafting or design team
• Background in fired heater, pressure vessel, or heavy structural fabrication (oil & gas / petrochemical)
• Familiarity with API 560, AWS D1.1, and ASME Section VIII

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the drafting team (Drafters, Senior Drafters, Checker, and CNC Programmer)
• Manage resources, deadlines, and performance to keep projects on time and on budget
• Set and enforce drafting standards, templates, and best practices; drive continuous improvement
• Oversee creation and revision of 2D/3D drawings, fabrication prints, and layouts
• Verify drawings for accuracy and code/standards compliance; approve BOMs and production docs
• Translate customer specs and engineering requirements into manufacturable designs
• Partner with engineering, project management, and production to resolve design questions
• Align drawing releases with CNC programming, material take-offs, and project schedules
