This position focuses on delivering instruction within the Drafting Technology program, specifically teaching CAD-related courses, developing curriculum, and providing academic advising while maintaining professional contacts in the industry. Requirements

  • Associate of Science degree in Drafting Technology
  • Five years of work experience as an Architectural Drafter
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit software
  • Evidence of successful previous teaching experience at the college level
  • Demonstrable experience providing culturally responsive instruction
  • Bicultural/multicultural skills sufficient to select appropriate behaviors, values and attitudes within different cultures during interactions with others

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Sketchup, Microstation, ArcGIS (or equivalent), and/or Bluebeam software.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Develops, modifies, and updates curriculum materials and recommends course outline revisions
  • Recommends textbooks, instructional materials, and library/reference resources
  • Contributes suggestions for the annual department budget and maintains college facilities and equipment
  • Assists Advisory Committees and represents the department at pertinent meetings
  • Teaches CAD courses including architectural drafting, Revit, and AutoCAD; and other general drafting classes.
  • Provides students with course syllabi and maintains records of grades and attendance.
  • Delivers instruction in a variety of modalities to meet program and student needs including face-to-face, remote, hybrid, and/or online
  • Creates a learning climate of mutual respect and fairness
