Drafting and Design Instructor, Part-Time

About The Position

This is a part-time instructor position for Drafting and Design. The role requires the instructor to teach students using both manual drafting and computer-assisted drawing and design (CADD) techniques. The position emphasizes the ability to create various types of design and detailed working drawings.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent foreign degree, plus two years of recent verifiable professional work experience using both manual drafting and computer-assisted drawing and design (CADD) to create various types of design and detailed working drawings.
  • Possession of an Associate degree, or equivalent foreign degree, plus six years of recent verifiable professional work experience using both manual drafting and computer-assisted drawing and design (CADD) to create various types of design and detailed working drawings directly related to the faculty member’s assignment.
  • A valid California Community College Credential authorizing service in the appropriate subject matter.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of specific discipline.
  • Knowledge of instructional needs of community college students.
  • Ability to relate well with peers and other co-workers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to be flexible in a changing environment.
  • Demonstrate a sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Responsibilities

  • Teach students using manual drafting techniques.
  • Teach students using computer-assisted drawing and design (CADD).
  • Instruct students on creating various types of design and detailed working drawings.
