About The Position
FTS / Flexblue Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Draftsman / Designer to support our fabrication and production teams. This role is responsible for creating accurate technical drawings, layouts, and designs for custom metal fabrication projects.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in drafting/design (metal fabrication preferred)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with sheet metal, structural steel, or custom fabrication
- Knowledge of CNC, laser cutting, or machining processes
- Basic understanding of welding and fabrication techniques
Responsibilities
- Create and modify 2D/3D CAD drawings for fabrication projects
- Interpret customer specifications, sketches, and engineering inputs
- Prepare shop drawings, layouts, and cut lists
- Collaborate with shop personnel to ensure designs are practical and buildable
- Revise drawings based on feedback and field measurements
- Maintain organized drawing files and documentation
- Assist with project coordination and timelines as needed
