This requisition may be filled as either a level 2 or level 3. This requisition may be filled at a higher job grade based on the qualifications listed below.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government clearance
  • Familiarity in creating detailed 2D and 3D models
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers to ensure proper design.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with or knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
  • Experience with component selection, qualification, and application in electronic or mechanical systems
  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience; 0 years with a Master's. An additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. (for Level 2)
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience; 3 years with a Master's; 0 years with a PhD. An additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. (for Level 3)

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in CAD software including NX, CAD CREO, or SOLID WORKS
  • Experience with Siemen’s Teamcenter or similar PLM systems
  • Experience in developing Electronic Part specifications, particularly using military or Industry requirements and specifications
  • Experience with technical writing for documentation purposes
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
  • 5 years’ experience detailing mechanical/electrical parts and assemblies
  • Familiar with ASME Standards
  • Strong mechanical knowledge is beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Utilize computer-aided design tools to create, modify, and detail engineering drawings for parts, assemblies, and installations based on established layouts and standard data in a field of specialization such as structures, devices, mechanics, electrical, or electronics.
  • Completes details of major layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices.
  • Interpret design sketches, engineering notes, and specifications to produce technical drawings
  • Develop and maintain accurate drafting documentation, including assembly drawings and schematics.
