About The Position

Maxan is looking for a highly detailed and organized Drafter to join our Digital Construction team. This isn’t a traditional drafting role; you’ll be working at the intersection of design, technology, and field execution. The role reports into our Digital Technology Manager and works closely with project teams and site crews to turn drawings into something that actually works on site. A big part of this role is seeing how digital models connect directly to the field through scanning and robotic layout technology and being part of making that happen. The Digital Construction team is at the forefront of innovation and continuous improvement, and the Drafter will need to handle a wide range of projects, so the ideal candidate can effectively prioritize tasks, respond promptly to client needs, and stay organized while managing competing demands.

Requirements

~2-4 years of drafting or modeling experience in construction or a related field
Background in Architectural Technology, Construction Engineering, or similar
Comfortable reading and working with construction drawings
Experience with Bluebeam
Interest in digital construction and evolving technology
Detail-oriented and solution-focused
Someone who enjoys working closely with both office and field teams

Nice To Haves

Exposure to Rhino or Grasshopper is a strong asset

Responsibilities

Creating shop drawings, layouts, and models to support construction projects
Translating design intent into practical, buildable solutions
Working with Project Managers and field teams to ensure drawings align with site conditions
Supporting revisions, RFIs, and as-built drawings
Contributing to digital workflows, including scanning and robotic layout processes
Assisting in preparing models used for field layout and execution
Using tools like Bluebeam, Rhino, and Grasshopper in your day-to-day work
