About The Position

Our drafters utilize established techniques, standards and tools like computer aided drafting software to prepare technical drawings. They also coordinate and consult with engineers or designers to complete projects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of courses in plane geometry, algebra and trigonometry required.
• Minimum 2 years current experience in drafting and/or design and detailing of mechanical components required.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient skills in reading blueprints, diagrams, drawings, and sketches required.
• PC experience and training required such that the Basic level of skill can be demonstrated in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Exchange, Adobe Acrobat, and Daptiv.
• Ability and willingness to perform detail work without constant supervision.
• Ability and willingness to work under pressure and in a cooperative manner.
• Intermediate level of skill in Solidworks and AutoCAD required.

Nice To Haves

• Associates degree in related field is preferred.
• Advanced level of skill in Solidworks and AutoCAD preferred.
• Intermediate level of Skill in Solidworks PDM is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare various drawings and schematics of mechanical components derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints and sketches.
• Utilize established techniques, standards and tools like computer aided drafting software to prepare technical drawings.
• Coordinate and consult with engineers or designers to complete projects.
• Inspect large scale products for review and checking assembly procedures.
• Climb into, or onto some machines to evaluate and document how a part or assembly functions.
