POSITION SUMMARY The Draftsman supports Engineering, Production, and Customer Service by preparing and maintaining technical and production drawings, generating project take-offs and assisting with special projects as directed. This role ensures accurate, organized documentation and facilitates smooth communication between departments to support efficient project execution.
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
- 2-4 years of experience in lighting or related industries (customer service, inside sales, or similar).
- Proficient with PC platforms and software: Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Required: Adobe or Bluebeam Revu.
- Quick learner with strong organizational skills.
- Professional, self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and team-oriented with a strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize urgent requests, and follow up effectively.
- Fluent in English.
- Energetic, people-oriented, tenacious, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Candidates are required to undergo a background check.
- Candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
Nice To Haves
- Architectural lighting industry experience is a plus.
- Preferred (not required): SAP, AGI, AutoCAD, Photometric ToolBox
Responsibilities
- Support Engineering and Production teams by creating production, technical, and documentation drawings for various components and assemblies.
- Collaborate with the Customer Service Department to generate project take‑offs and drawings required by the sales team.
- Analyze blueprint drawings, product layouts, and specifications, ensuring all technical and installation requirements are accurately documented.
- Calculate and verify quantities of required products, collaborating with Sales to ensure accurate and timely quotations.
- Produce technical drawings for event pole projects.
- Develop CAD‑based and Bluebeam‑based technical drawings, as well as standardized company templates, symbols, title blocks, and related documentation to support consistent drafting and project workflows.
- Assist with special projects or assignments as directed by management.
