The Lighting Project Manager manages lighting fixture packages from project award through project closeout, serving as the primary point of contact between construction project teams, lighting representatives, manufacturers, distributors, and customers. Success in this role requires exceptional organization, schedule management, and communication skills. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, ensuring lighting packages are quoted, ordered, coordinated, and delivered on schedule while supporting luxury residential, commercial, and multifamily projects.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of experience in lighting, electrical distribution, construction project management, project coordination, or construction procurement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Technology, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience will be considered.
  • Experience supporting luxury residential, commercial, decorative, or custom lighting projects preferred.
  • Ability to read architectural and electrical drawings, lighting schedules, and construction specifications.
  • Experience preparing quotations, purchase orders, submittmits, and customer invoices.
  • Working knowledge of construction scheduling and procurement processes.
  • Strong project management, organization, and vendor coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PDF markup software.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu, Procore, Autodesk Build, or lighting distributor software such as Oasis, Epicor Eclipse, or similar preferred.
  • Knowledge of lighting controls and Florida building code requirements preferred.
  • Valid Florida driver's license with the ability to travel throughout South and Central Florida.

Responsibilities

  • Manage lighting fixture packages from project award through project closeout.
  • Perform fixture takeoffs from architectural, electrical, and lighting plans and specifications.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor quotations, identify value-engineered alternatives, and prepare pricing packages for approval.
  • Issue purchase orders and coordinate with vendors to monitor production, shipping, and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain procurement logs and proactively resolve backorders, substitutions, shipping issues, and product discrepancies.
  • Coordinate delivery sequencing with project teams to support construction schedules and minimize project delays.
  • Develop and maintain procurement milestones aligned with project schedules.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, interior designers, lighting designers, contractors, and field teams regarding submittals, substitutions, deliveries, and fixture requirements.
  • Participate in project meetings, coordination calls, and site visits as needed.
  • Support fixture mock-ups, field verification, and installation coordination for decorative and custom lighting packages.
  • Prepare and manage lighting submittmits, substitutions, RFIs, purchase orders, and project documentation.
  • Process customer billings, reconcile vendor invoices, monitor change orders, and assist with accounts receivable follow-up.
  • Ensure compliance with Florida Notice to Owner requirements and maintain complete project records.
  • Coordinate project closeout documentation, warranties, attic stock records, and punch list resolution.
  • Represents HBC’s GRIT values in every client and community interaction.
