About The Position

Vulcraft and Nucor Detailing Center are seeking Drafter/Modelers to work at their Norfolk, Nebraska facility. The role provides drafting and modeling services to Nucor manufacturing facilities throughout the United States. Using the customized 3D modeling software TEKLA, the Drafter/Modeler creates project models to ensure that components fit together as a complete design solution. The model is used to generate and verify fabrication drawings and reports, bills of materials, and field construction drawings. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor. Candidates must be able to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

Associate degree in Drafting, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Willingness to work at the Vulcraft or Nucor Detailing Center facility in Norfolk, Nebraska.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree in Structural, Mechanical, or Architectural Drafting.
3D modeling experience using Tekla or Solidworks.
Strong knowledge of the construction industry and construction practices.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with and provide drafting and modeling services for Nucor manufacturing facilities throughout the United States.
Create project models using TEKLA 3D modeling software to ensure components fit together correctly.
Generate and verify fabrication drawings and reports, bills of materials, and field construction drawings from the 3D model.
