About The Position

The Drafter/Designer III is responsible for developing conceptual designs, reviewing drawings, and providing support to the engineering team. This position designs project-specific items to be manufactured by our Company and other companies. This position will facilitate internal workflow, as required. This position collaborates in person and remotely with Project Management and Engineering professionals to develop design concepts and engineering documents.

Requirements

Associate degree in Drafting or CAD Technology.
3-5 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above (8 years of demonstrated experience in a mechanical engineering field in lieu of degree).
Working knowledge & experience with Pro/E Creo (version 5 or later) is required.
Have a basic understanding of welding processes, callouts, and applications.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Creo Sheetmetal design is a plus.
Prior experience in Engineering design, and ASME Pressure vessel manufacturing industry is helpful.
Having a basic understanding of controls and instrumentation, and the ability to take concepts to design is also a plus.

Responsibilities

Receives, reviews, and interprets project requirements and design information including but not limited to Scope of Work (SOW), Engineering Specification Reviews (ESR), Calculations, Placement Sketch, Construction Notes, Controls Component Spec (& Control’s location on vessel), and Internals order forms to complete designs.
Provides a timely and accurate response to all inquiries.
Interact closely with both Project Engineers and Manufacturing Personnel to meet customer needs.
Produces 3D Parts, Assemblies, and Layouts created in CAD, General Arrangement (GA) and Fabrication drawings, Bills of Materials, and prototype designs to support customer requirements, using Pro/E Creo (version 5 or later) for drafting and design purposes.
Makes necessary corrections to existing drawings following quality review process.
Determines appropriate methods to create drawings using either a CAD template customized to the client’s requirements, a standard template designed for the specific type of work, or by updating an existing CAD file.
Reviews drawings from other drafters to ensure alignment with scoping and corporate drafting standards.
Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
