About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Drafter / CAD Operator IV to support facility engineering and construction projects under a Base Operations Support Contract (BOSC). This position is responsible for creating and maintaining AutoCAD drawings, Revit models, facility floorplans, 3D models, construction drawings, and as-built documentation across multiple campuses. The role works closely with engineers and design teams and combines advanced CAD/Revit drafting with field verification and facility document management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or state-certified equivalent required.
  • Strong experience with AutoCAD and facility/construction drawings.
  • Experience with Revit and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of drafting techniques and facility maintenance/construction methods and materials.
  • Experience maintaining drawings, engineering records, as-built documentation, and technical project information.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage detailed assignments through completion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid Missouri or Illinois driver's license required.
  • Top Secret/SCI government security clearance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a multi-year computer-aided design (CAD) training program preferred; relevant college education in civil engineering technology, engineering, or related technical coursework may also qualify.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed CAD drawings and computer models for complex engineering and facility designs requiring a high degree of accuracy.
  • Develop and update AutoCAD drawings and Revit Building Information Models (BIM).
  • Review existing AutoCAD files and perform field verification of facility measurements and existing conditions.
  • Prepare construction drawings for facility maintenance, repair, renovation, and construction projects.
  • Maintain facility drawings, including building floorplans, 3D models, and drawings across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Incorporate as-built and new construction changes into master facility drawings to maintain accurate records.
  • Convert historical facility drawings into electronic formats and support electronic archiving.
  • Manage facility documentation and drawing retrieval processes across three campuses.
  • Interpret engineering plans, specifications, and design information to complete drawings and project documentation.
  • Perform CAD and Revit development that is completed internally rather than outsourced.
  • Create, update, and maintain engineering data and records within applicable computer systems.
  • Support construction permitting and documentation to help ensure applicable legal and technical requirements are addressed.
  • Communicate requested facility and site information to approved project stakeholders.
  • Provide drafting guidance to less-experienced team members and assist with coordination of larger or more complex drafting projects as needed.
  • Complete complex drafting assignments requiring independent judgment, initiative, and technical expertise.
