About The Position

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will design models, drawings, and configurations of launch vehicle hardware with a focus on propellant management & tunnel systems including secondary structures. You will share in the team’s impact on the design of the Stage 1 Tank and subsystems. You will report to the Manager of Mechanical, Materials & Structural Engineering within the Stage 1 Tanks team.

  • 5+ years of recent experience designing/drafting aerospace, automotive or equivalent industry structure’s parts, components, or subsystems
  • Hands on experience with hardware “on the production floor” and/or “in service”
  • Experience with Creo (Pro/Engineer) and Windchill; equivalent software will be considered if all other required qualifications are met
  • Strong mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software
  • Experience managing large CAD assemblies and associated drawings
  • Experience in standard fits, tolerance stacks, and GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, Y14.41)
