Dozer Operator
About The Position
Fisher Industries is a vertically integrated, family-owned group of businesses providing heavy civil construction and aggregate products across the United States. The Dozer Operator operates D8/D9 dozers to construct embankments and fill areas efficiently and effectively, including moving dirt across mountainous terrain. The role may involve day or night shifts, travel, overtime, and weekend work. Fisher Industries has more than 70 years of experience in highways, bridges, aggregates, and large-scale infrastructure projects, with in-house drilling, blasting, crushing, asphalt, and concrete capabilities. The company emphasizes safety, quality, and innovative, cost-effective solutions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of earth-moving experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Acceptable motor vehicle record in accordance with Fisher's Company Vehicle Program policy.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to follow and enforce safe work practices.
- Self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Willingness to travel out of town for extended periods and work night shifts and/or weekends as required.
- OSHA certification or willingness to obtain certification; the company will pay for certification.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate D8 and D9 dozers to meet production targets.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip walk-around safety inspections and complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities.
- Maintain heavy equipment in good operating condition and report and log maintenance requirements or concerns.
- Complete production reporting and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members.
- Comply with OSHA requirements and company safety policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
